A thread for bugs I found in Alpha 47. Will continue to update as I find.

Bugs:

1 I made the blacksmith - but the blacksmith window doesn't appear - how does this work?

2 In the recipe window - item count is bugged - for example steel - it doesnt show proper # you can make in ()

3 Maybe on purpose (not sure of it's function) but there is a cursor on the blueprint screen and I can enter text

4 Blacksmith placed text goes outside the text box

Suggestions:

1 On waypoint map - show where your flag (home circle) is

Questions/Comments:

1 Does it matter how large my blacksmith building is? Mine is 6x6 - maybe you should allow the user to put the cornerstone down FIRST. Then a ghost image of where you need to place the bricks is shown. If the size of the building doesn't matter then it works ok as is.

Heya Mike!

What, you mean the lack of instruction or good ui means it's not obvious!

* Right-click on the "BL" cornerstone to open up the Blacksmith interface.

* At the moment, Cornerstones can only be placed on "corners" of bricks. But the game should tell you that when you try and place the cornerstone.

* Will have a look at the other stuff. Do you reckon you could post a couple of screens showing what you are seeing Mike?

BUILDING SIZE: The original plan was to have it restricted within a certain length of wall. But that quickly went into the "too hard" basket. Went with just a corner. Might enhance this logic later.

WAYPOINT MAP: Can get this done yeah, good idea.

For the blacksmith UI - I thought it should be right click and tried that. It's somehow bugged for me. I tried right clicking on the BL cornerstone. I assume the one I placed? It doesn't open up any new UIs for me. Yes I will post some screenshots later tonight!

Hmmm. Okay, are you standing near it?

Also, perhaps right-click once. Wait. Then right-click again.

I don't know why that would do anything .. But worth a try.

Okay I got it working. I think I wasn't close enough to the cornerstone. It looked like I was before but now I get very close and it seems to be working fine. I emailed you a few screenshots to show you bug #2 and bug #3. Let me know if you need anything else. Will update this thread if I find anything else.

Suggestion:

It would be very nice to be able to repair all equipped items or at the very least repair an item while it's equipped. The durability seems to go down very fast too. That might be by design. I'm finding I have to repair my items quite often.

Yeah okay, I guess that's a BALANCE issue. Will take some time to fiddle and get right I imagine.

The idea is that every time you use a tool or weapon it loses durability.

When you use Steel items, they have a LOT more durability, and so you can use them for a lot longer until they need repairing (like Minecraft).

BUT .. There's a deeper thread at play here. When Item Attributes get into the game, then you will have favourite weapons and tools, ones you just don't want to lose. So you can stick them in a chest until you can afford to repair them again.

Yeah I get your point about it being a balance thing. Good point about the item attribs.

I played enough to go up 3 character levels. Everything is looking pretty good. Here are a few (minor) new bugs:

1] Can't equip torches anymore - dragging it to light source slot does nothing now

2] When you unequip an item and it should stack it doesn't - for example torches (they stack when made)

3] Durability bar graphic for feet covers the feet item graphic and you can't see it

For #1 I had the torch equip and then put it into my inventory. When I tried to equip it again I couldn't.

Doh. The torch thing is annoying. Not sure why, but I think torches might have been set to NOT stackable. Will change that up in the next build.

Will look into the stacking issue.
